Microsoft Phone Scam

There has been a rash of calls to people in our area from individuals with heavy accents, claiming to be from Microsoft, and asking to log into your computer to fix a problem.

Microsoft will never call you to say your computer reported a problem.

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, hang up immediately.

As part of the scam, these individuals will log in to your computer and show you a few error messages.   They will then ask for your credit card information so they can bill you to perform repairs.

So, if you receive a call from “Microsoft”, hang up immediately, do not let them remote into your computer, and do not give them your credit card information!
